Right Genius/Right Job
January 25th, 2010
One of the single most important decisions Chris and I will make in the coming month is “who to add to our team.” As many of you know, Judy Bublitz, our longtime Client Services Manager will be retiring after 12 years as the third leg of the PSG stool. As a small team of three, our company absolutely hinges on who we hire.
We have an opportunity to practice what we preach by using the Kolbe RightFit™ approach to select the best applicant who has the right chemisty to succeed. Our hiring process will focus on the right character, the right competence and the right chemistry to allow him/her to succeed here, within the PSG environment with meaningful, fulfilling and satisfying work.
Research shows us that education is about a 22% predictor of performance, and the interview even lower at 14%, but Kolbe RightFit predictor is 82% when the character and competence due diligence has been done well. When Judy was hired in 1998, she was an A fit to this role. Here is what we are looking for:
Client Services Manager
Seeking experienced customer-focused part-time assistant to provide project support and general office management. Role includes preparation of training materials; planning and managing logistics for client projects, sales and marketing efforts; and general administrative duties. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, be technology savvy, have demonstrated talents in planning, organizing and orchestrating project details, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
Instincts to succeed:
Capable of coordinating a series of diverse projects; able to flow chart activities; establish routines and work with processes to effectively finalize projects and meet deadlines. Efficient, on time, dependable, closure oriented. Highly organized, yet willing to be flexible and adaptive. Capable of anticipating circumstances. Operates within guidelines on a project-by-project basis. Maintains a sense of order and provides continuity.
The Kolbe Range of Success ™ for this role is:
Fact Finder 5 — 7; Follow Thru 5 — 9; Quick Start 5 — 7; Implementor 1 — 2
PSG values are:
Exceptional Customer Service; High Standards of Integrity; Continual learning to improve expertise and skill; Consistently model Teamwork through active team involvement
It is vitally important that we get this right “the first time around.” We are asking for your help. Please let those you know who are seeking this type of role know of our opening in our Holland, MI based office. Thank you.
