Case Study:
Michigan SBTDC

Challenge

Collaboration amongst our more than 100 consultants is essential. Strong communication between a Grand Rapids based headquarters and a field of multiple offices across the state is critical. Collaboration and communication is a constant challenge due to the vast geography of Michigan. We needed to get better at communicating.

Solution

We used PSG to help us in five different settings:

  1. Team-building and communication amongst our State Headquarters team of six
  2. Hiring new employees
  3. Problem-solving amongst employees to help deal with performance issues
  4. Engaging leadership (regional directors) to strengthen their work on committees, ad hoc groups, etc.
  5. Strengthening local clusters of consultants within regions to increase their comfort zone in co-counseling, team consulting
